The Confidence Hearing Story
Dr. Tara Bisheh is the principal audiologist and owner of Confidence Hearing. She brings to her practice an exceptional global education, including a Doctorate of Audiology from A.T. Still University USA, a Master of Clinical Audiology from Melbourne University, and a Bachelor of Audiology from Beheshti Medical University, along with many years of clinical experience in various fields of audiology.
Her expertise includes diagnostic audiology, aural rehabilitation services including counselling, and fitting various hearing aids and assistive listening devices, tinnitus assessment and management, hearing protection, and wax management.
Tara believes that hearing loss is a hidden disability and a chronic condition whose possible linkage with other medical conditions is often overlooked. Hence, Tara’s practice is founded on the principles of interventional audiology, employing regular assessments and treatments to prevent hearing loss leading to or exacerbating other adverse conditions.
Tara’s advanced audiological knowledge, years of global clinical expertise and great communication skills means she can deliver high-quality, personalised care that continues far beyond diagnosis and treatment. Compassionate ongoing counselling for patients, their communication partners and their families is paramount in her practice doctrine.
Tara is a fully accredited member of Audiology Australia and Independent Audiologists Australia and can provide services to a wide section of the community under the Australian Government Hearing Services and Medicare programs. She continues her professional development with annual education and training in various aspects of audiology through attending conferences and seminars. This allows her to learn about new developments and the latest best practices to improve her patients’ quality of life.
Outside of audiology Tara loves to spend time with her family, bike riding and swimming at the beach. She is a devoted spectator at her son’s weekend sport and is currently trying to stay afloat in her new passion, kayaking. Tara is bilingual, speaking English and Farsi.
Confidence Hearing believes that hearing well is the key to a happy life since our hearing health is closely connected to our brain’s health and overall well-being. That’s why the practice adopts an interventional approach to preventing and treating hearing loss before it becomes a barrier to enjoying life’s pleasures. Regular hearing assessments help to identify and treat issues before they develop further. The goal of interventional audiology is to minimise impairment and maximise function with the goal of promoting a healthier lifestyle.
Importantly, Confidence Hearing is proudly independent and does not partner with any hearing aid companies or brands. You can trust us to offer balanced and unbiased information, support and treatment based on the best outcomes for your unique situation. At all times we keep you engaged in your own care, empowering you with knowledge and understanding and the ability to seek answers and information. Your type and degree of hearing loss, your speech perception scores, lifestyle, and budget are the important factors in any recommendations we make. Every hearing device we endorse includes our high level of ongoing customer support to ensure the device continues to meet your expectations. Importantly, solutions are delivered at the pace you want to go with and there is no obligation to go with recommendations.
Dr. Bisheh strongly adopts a patient-centred holistic approach where a customised solution to better hearing respects a patient’s wishes and works with them closely over time to reach their maximum hearing potential. This way, we move forward as a team. We involve family members and hearing partners in the process so that patients can return to the important activities in their life with their loved ones. Most importantly, you are at the centre of your aural rehabilitation journey, and you make the decisions.
