What We Offer

Custom Hearing Protection

Hearing protection is very important for people exposed to high levels of noise exposure in occupational and recreational settings such as being a factory worker, tradesman, musician, motor sport enthusiast, recreational shooter and using headphones to listen to music. Significantly, once hearing is permanently damaged it cannot be reversed. If you are concerned about your hearing due to being exposed to loud noise, we can assess you for any damage and then make appropriate recommendations. There are various options for hearing protection including:

Foam Earplugs are made of extra soft foam which expands in the ear to fit snugly and reduce external noise. They are inexpensive yet effective for some different hearing protection applications. However, as they also cut the frequencies important for speech understanding, they do not suit those requiring hearing speech sounds at the same time.

Custom Moulded Earplugs are custom made to the shape of your ears after an impression of your ear canal has been taken by Dr. Bisheh. Therefore, they can offer more comfort and better sealing, compared with non-customised models. They are designed differently and come in various types such as sleep earplugs, swimming earplugs, and musician earplugs. Their different design and filtering options cut unwanted noise for your individual purposes while keeping the desirable frequencies at desirable levels. Below are some examples of Custom Moulded Earplugs. For further information about the type of noise-blocking earplugs that best suit your individual needs, please contact Dr Bisheh today.

  • Sleep Earplugs are custom moulded earplugs designed for those experiencing sleep deprivation due to a snoring partner or noisy living environment. They are designed for comfort while sleeping and can block out traffic, barking dogs and snoring yet allows you to still hear the smoke alarm and the alarm clock.

  • Musicians’ Earplugs incorporate a specialised acoustic filter and are available with different levels of noise attenuation depending on what instrument you play and in which environments. Therefore, they can reduce volume without sacrificing sound quality and can potentially protect musicians from hearing loss and tinnitus.

  • Swimming Earplugs are also custom made. They keep water out of the ear canal making them the ideal answer for swimming, surfing, diving, and all water-based activities, particularly for those with grommets or perforations in the eardrum.
